Kemper County is a county located in the U.S. state of Mississippi. The county is part of the Meridian, MS Micropolitan Statistical Area. United States Senator John C. Stennis, who served from 1947 to 1988, was born in Kemper County. Another Kemper County native was the legendary Texas Ranger Captain Bill McDonald. East Mississippi Community College is located in Kemper County in the town of Scooba, at the junction of US 45 and Mississippi Highway 16. ==Geography== According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of , of which is land and (0.1%) is water.
